  • O que é Pé Pronado?

    This is when your ankles turn inward (medially) and your foot turns outwardly (laterally). If you look at a person’s heels, you will see what looks like the letter “L” as the lower part of the Achilles Tendon angles laterally compared to the upper part. The Achilles tendon should be in a straight line.

    Often, there are no symptoms for many years. Such a foot presentation causes stress on the ankles and knees and can cause pain in both areas. It also effects the mechanics of how a person walks, and can lead to back problems

  • Causas de Pé Pronado

    An imbalance of the lower leg muscles, with too much tension on the outside muscles that turn the foot outward and lack of strength in the muscles that turn the foot inward. Improper foot bone alignment and function can also be a cause. The common term used to describe this phenomenon is “Flat Foot”, caused by the collapse of medial arch of the foot.

    The foot and ankle bones must be properly aligned and functioning correctly. The muscles of the lower legs must be treated to restore balance and special exercises must be performed daily by the patient. Special orthotics are recommended to ensure proper foot bone alignment. The Medial Arch is the most important for correcting Pronation.
