Esporão Calcâneo

  • O que é Esporão Calcâneo?

The tendon that connects your foot muscles to your heel bone becomes inflamed from many possible causes. Chronic inflammation, several months to several years, caused the accumulation of Calcium deposits on the tendon. When enough Calcium collects on the tendon, it is visible on an X ray of the foot…and looks like a spur or sharp object.

  • Como nós tratamos de um Esporão Calcâneo

We first make sure all the bones of the feet are properly aligned and functioning correctly. We then treat the fascia to restore the proper function and movement. Your muscles and tendons need to flow smoothly over each other, if not, there is pain caused by adhesions. We strongly recommend patients use proper orthotics for their feet to make sure the three arches of your foot (Medial, Anterior and Lateral) are supported correctly. To help alleviate the and swelling, ice can be used for 15-20 minutes, 2-3 times per day. Rolling your foot over a frozen bottle of water is a good way to anesthetise the area and brake up the fascia. Rolling your foot over a golf ball is another simple way to relieve the pain.
