Most common symptom is Low Back Pain, but in several patients, there is NO low back pain but only hip, thigh or lower leg pain. The cause can be from a hard fall on your back side, lifting something excessively heavy, or long-term arthritis or degeneration of the lumbar joints. Often, there is a fracture of the posterior part of the vertebra called the “Pars”. Such a fracture makes the joint unstable and the front part of the vertebra, the “Body” slides forward.
  • Como nós tratamos de Espondilolistese Lombar

We typically can take care of a Grade 1-3 Spondy with positive clinical results. Grades 4 and 5, we get a second opinion from a spine surgeon. Some patients experience immediate relief from our treatment while others can take weeks or even months before becoming stable. We have a specific clinical protocol for Spondylolisthesis. The recover process is greatly dependent on patient compliance with recommendations and following the treatment plan. It is a slow process that can take up to 6 weeks of care just to stabilize the joint. Muscles of the spine and abdomen must be strengthened to support the Lumbar spine and stabilize the joints. Proper sitting and lifting are essential to a quicker recovery. If the area is painful or swollen, ice, 2 times per day for 15 minutes will bring relief.
